5 new hotel openings in Palma center
Five new boutique hotels are to be built in Palma at the beginning of the year, with a total of 250 new rooms near the former city walls. Boutique hotels usually have 20 rooms and offer very good service and luxurious amenities. The 38-room Hotel Cappuccino will open in early March 2018. The hotel will offer a gym, spa and on-site cinema, including a rooftop pool. The Spanish chain Petit Palace will open its first hotel in Palma with the new hotel Icon Rosetó Petit Palace, further locations in Spain are Barcelona, Seville, Madrid, Valencia, Malaga and Bilbao. This hotel will have 32 rooms and will be built in the former nunnery. The Boutique Hotel Baluard del Princep will open with 50 rooms before Easter. As well as the hotels Gloria and another near the hotel Sant Francesc.
The new openings of the Boutique Hotels in Palma have been rising steadily since 2014, until 2019, this will continue, according to Javier Vich, President of the Hotel Association Palma. As demand from hotel investors is very high, real estate prices have risen by 30 percent.
