Christmas lights – Palma shines full of glory on 28.11!

Palma and the surrounding area offers all the Christmas rush you need to get in a Christmas mood! The Christmas lights in Palma will be switched on this year on 28th of November at 7 p.m. at the beginning of the Christmas season in Mallorca. Along the Passeig de Borne there will be the usual colourful hustle and bustle awaiting the annual activation of the Christmas lights.

It is something very special and the lights will be on until the 7th of January. Sparkling lights will wind into every tree trunk and illuminate every branch. Garlands with huge hanging balls cross the street and a whole sky of lights covers the Plaça del Rei Joan Carles I. Mallorcans know how to get into the seasonal mood!

Balloon sellers are always popular with children who take the chance to get their own light show in the form of LED-decorated balloons. Some families will stay to enjoy a concert of Christmas songs, while others are probably looking for churros and hot chocolate! Palma’s most beautiful avenue will be full of crowds eager to see this year’s breathtaking Christmas lights turned on.

Shops will be open almost 7 days a week during the Christmas season, usually until 8pm or later, so that is plenty of time for Christmas shopping in Palma. You also have the opportunity to visit one of the many Christmas markets that start in November and last until the beginning of January.
