Discover Palma by Bike
With spacious avenues, inviting promenades and usually perfect weather, Palma is an ideal city for cycling. Various bike rental stations offer affordable deals for the whole family including helmets and bike baskets. The most relaxed and probably also the most beautiful route, leads along the Paseo Maritimos, past the cathedral La Seu, Portixol, Playa de Palma to the marina in Arenal - and always directly along the sea. On the way to Arenal you will pass many nice bars, cafés and restaurants to take a break, have something to eat or drink or even jump into the water for a short while. Directly at the harbour of Portixol you will find the Assaona Beach Club which is always a good place to stop - especially because of the fantastic view of the scenery of Palma and the cathedral. Continuing along the harbour you will find the beautiful promenade of Portixol with numerous restaurants like the Enco, Cocco or the stylish Izizi Nunnak with terrace in elevated position. On the beach of Ciudad Jardin there is a playground for children, an ice-cream parlour in summer and the restaurant El Bungalow, which is particularly popular with paella lovers. A few metres further on is the rustic restaurant El Penon (since 1957) with a dream view of Palma. Can Pastilla convinces with the hip, all-white Beach Club Puro and an excellent fish restaurant directly on the beach. Along the Playa de Palma you will find many other good restaurants and cafes, the Palma Aquarium and of course the port of Arenal. An absolutely worthwhile tour for the whole family and all year round.
