It’s that time again – Mallorca’s almond blossom
The end of January to about mid-March is the time of almond blossom in Mallorca and attracts thousands of tourists every year on the island. During this period, the most beautiful island in the world is transformed into a beautiful sea of flowers. The buds of the Majorcan almond trees begin to open and the white and pink flowers turn into a breathtaking sea of flowers. There are millions of almond trees in Mallorca, most of the trees can be found near Llucmajor, on the east coast, on the southeast coast and between Andratx and Soller. From Palma you can make a nice trip to the southwest of the island to admire between Andratx, S’Arraco and Calvia a wonderful flower splendor. The west of the island, between Valldemossa and Soller is also worthwhile for an unforgettable view of the varied landscape. On the east coast you can see many almond trees between Santanyi and Felanitx. The almond trees with the white flowers carry the sweet almonds and those with the delicate pink flowers the bitter almonds.
