New mobile speed cameras in Mallorca
The Spanish Tourist Office DGT has now informed about the project to expand the density of traffic radars for whole spain.
Alone in Majorca 30 mobile speed cameras are to be installed in order to control the speed of motorists and to avoid accidents at busy or dangerous routes. According to the Information Centre high speed is one of the major causes of traffic accidents, which often have significant property damage and health consequences. Only last year, 900 people died on the streets, on which now the radars are to be installed.
The Guardia Civil has thereby received precise instructions from the office, so that the speed cameras are set up correctly so that they can be detected in time and does not represent an additional risk. In Mallorca, for example, there will be cameras installed on the MA 11 towards Port de Soller, at the end of the motorway the MA 13 towards Alcudia and Pollensa, the Ma 3011 towards Sineu, the airport highway Ma 19 direction Campos and Santanyí as various other places.
On the website of the Tourist Office, you can see the points where the speed cameras are to be installed.
