Nit de l’Art in September – Palma and the art scene are inviting
The city of Palma is the location of the island’s most important art event, the Nit de’l Art which takes place on 21st of September.
This annual event in Palma marks the start of the artistic season on Mallorca. Thousands take to the streets to visit galleries and museums all inaugurating exhibitions on the same night, and to discover artistic surprises around every corner.
It’s the night when galleries, museums and art studios open their doors until around midnight and simultaneously inaugurate exhibitions. Palma’s vibrant contemporary art scene means that thousands of people take to the streets, wandering from exhibition to exhibition – often encountering art performances in the streets along the way.
As well as the organised exhibitions, there are always impromptu happenings, which add to the fascination of Nit de l’Art. You don’t have to be a lover of art to appreciate this memorable and sociable evening although, increasingly, the event is attracting serious art collectors who come from countries such as Britain, Germany and Russia for private viewings before it opens to the public.
Now in its 23rd edition, for the first time the evening will be sponsored by XOJAY, a design brand focused on creating innovation and inspiring spaces. XOJAY are passionate about supporting this year’s Nit de l’Art and promoting the contemporary art scene in Palma.
