Paella with sea views in Sa Foradada

Yesterday we went for lunch in this incredible restaurant on Mallorca’s west coast followed by a bath in the turquoise blue Mediterranean Sea. An absolute highlight and must for every tourist or resident! If you don’t have a boat, you can hike down to the restaurant Sa Foradada above the beautiful bay of Sa Foradada! A dreamlike scenery which offers itself to the hiker and for sure a few Majorcan donkeys will cross your way.

Sa Foradada offers a Mediterranean cuisine with meat and fish as well as classic paella in three different varieties, freshly prepared and straight from the wood stove grill. The service is really something they can be proud of. In 1972 Emilio Fernandez leased the rustic little estate and founded his informal cliff restaurant. Today Sa Foradada is run by his daughter Lidia. A real experience and simply beautiful to see how everything is freshly prepared in front of your eyes. The countless paella pans hanging on the wall and the colourful “Paprika Tap de Corti” hanging from the wooden beams give a very special charm and rustic touch and shine in their entire colourful splendour. These spices are also known from the small delicatessen shops in Palma’s city centre, as they are bought especially by the tourists as a typical souvenir for the loved ones at home.

The small Restaurant Sa Foradada offers several different terraces from which you can enjoy an indescribable sea view and then simply cool off in the crystal clear water via a direct access to the sea below the restaurant. Pure nature!  Also especially for families an excellent opportunity to spend an unforgettable day together.

The Restaurant Sa Foradada is only open during the summer months and a reservation is absolutely necessary by telephone: +34 616 087 499. We wish you a good appetite and an unforgettable time!
