Shopping & Restaurant visits in Mallorca possible again
After 8 weeks of complete lockdown, Mallorca woke up on Monday, 11.05 from its slumber and numerous shops (up to 400 m2) and restaurants could open again this week. At the moment the restaurants are only allowed to use their terraces and these only up to 50% with the prescribed safety distance. It was wonderful to see how relieved many were about this and used the relaxation of the curfew to finally have a café con leche in one of the many street cafés in Palma or to enjoy a delicious lunch on the beach. The owners of the shops in Palma spent the whole weekend getting their shops in shape and it was wonderful to watch the city come back to life. As long as no tourists can enter, many will have to continue to fight to survive and therefore it is very important to support the small businesses and restaurants. There are several ways to do this and if you are interested, please contact us for more information. One of our favourite restaurants, Il Chiringo in Palmanova (see picture), is now open again and asks for a table reservation in advance due to limited tables.
