The new Schwaiger restaurant – Xino’s in Palma near to Son Vida
The German chef Gerhard Schwaiger, known primarily from the Tristán Restaurant in Puerto Portals, where he was working for 29 years and has gathered countless culinary awards, has now opened his own restaurant. Now, Schwaiger has left Puerto Portals for Palma de Mallorca, to have his name over the door of a new restaurant: Schwaiger Xino’s. Located on the second floor of the Son Moix building it has the useful benefit of a free car park across the street and elevator up to the restaurant. Designer Virginia Pérez has totally transformed the interior, giving it a fresh, light, and contemporary style. Schwaiger has joined forces with Cristina Pérez Paino (formerly of Tristán, who looks after front of house and is the sommelier), innovative young chef Johannes Jobst, and four partners, including Xino’s Pedro Mesquida. The innovative cuisine by Gerhard Schwaiger offers Mediterranean cuisine with international influences mainly with local products. The restaurant offers à la carte cuisine as well as menu in the evenings. Four courses costs 48,50 Euro. The menu contains of numerous hot and cold appetizers, several meat and fish dishes as well as vegetarian dishes. Fans of Schwaiger kitchen will be happy - still there is the Wiener schnitzel with roast potatoes or the famous “Kaiserschmarrn” with orange ragout and vanilla ice cream. A professional service is guaranteed as well as an interesting wine list featuring national and international wines. Especially the many regular visitors of Gerhard Schwaiger, who are settled in Son Vida year-round or for holiday purposes, are happy about this new, high-quality restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the posh residential neighborhood of Palma. In the summer time you can dine on the terrace with wonderful mountain views of the Tramuntana.
