The Zafiro Palace Andratx is probably the most spectacular new hotel opening on Mallorca since the outbreak of the pandemic. The size alone: 304 rooms with a good 600 beds, spread over 13 buildings on the slopes of Camp de Mar, directly above the Steigenberger Hotel. 40,000 m2 of space with a total of 13 outdoor pools. The water consumption of the luxury resort was “enormous”, the whole project “insane”, GOB spokeswoman Margalida Ramis raged at the time. Zafiro defended the project. If you want to get away from low-cost tourism, you have to “offer people something”, said Zafiro manager Heike Charmaine Genschow. With more than a year of Corona delay, the new 5* hotel has now opened its doors to international guests. Guests can choose from a total of 5 different restaurants.
