Llucmajor offers numerous sports and leisure opportunities. For golfers, the Son Antem Resort offers everything a golfer’s heart desires. The area around Llucmajor is particularly popular with cyclists, who get their money’s worth here due to the perfectly developed cycle paths and the slightly hilly landscape. For hikers, too, the Randa mountain is a good starting point for a tour in the mountains. Water sports enthusiasts can reach both the endless sandy beach of Playa de Palma with all water sports facilities and the natural beach Es Trenc with its wonderful Caribbean atmosphere within 10-20 minutes. For boat lovers, the marina of Arenal is only a few minutes’ drive from Llucmajor. For fans of fast tyres, there is also the popular Circuit Mallorca race track between Llucmajor and Palma airport.
LOCATION
Llucmajor is located a little inland on the south coast and is the largest municipality on Mallorca in terms of area. It has a total of about 20,000 inhabitants. The municipality extends to the entire south coast from S’Arenal directly on the Platja de Palma to S’Estanyol on the border of the municipality of Campos and its coast. In the small town there are 4 supermarkets, a few very popular cafés and tapas bars and even a fruit and vegetable market 3 times a week in the recently completely renovated town centre with its Plaza de España and the second largest church in Mallorca. The picturesque mountain village of Randa and the mountain of the same name, the highest elevation in the centre of Mallorca with its 3 monasteries is located north of Llucmajor. Due to the perfect motorway connection to Palma, Llucmajor has developed into a convenient and therefore popular place to live in recent years. Llucmajor is attractive to many permanent residents due to its favourable location and relatively low property prices. It is lively all year round. Despite a colourful international community, many locals live here. If you are looking for a finca with plenty of land close to Palma and the airport, Llucmajor is an excellent choice.
